With a satisfyingly old fashioned aesthetic which perfectly suits the genteel surroundings, The Orchard Tea Rooms have been a part of the Grantchester landscape for over 100 years. Started by accident when some passing students asked the Orchard’s proprietor for a cup of tea in passing, the tradition stuck and grew into the business it is today.
Since then, though, the current owners are proud to say that not a lot has changed. Frequented by the many writers, poets and creative that seem drawn to Grantchester as a whole, the Tea Room prides itself on its reputation as an escape from the hectic pace of the real world.
It also backs onto the Grantchester Meadows, making it an ideal spot for afternoon tea on a sunny day.
